What is back labor?
Back labor refers to the intense lower back pain that many women have during labor and delivery. Some women even feel this pain between contractions. The pain is caused by the pressure of the fetus’s head on the lower back. Childbirth classes can teach you ways to deal with back labor, including changing positions or partner massage.
You also can consider medications for pain relief during labor and delivery.
