How can I tell if my sadness after pregnancy is normal or a sign of depression?
It’s normal to feel blue sometimes. But if you are feeling a loss of interest in things that used to make you happy, talk with your ob-gyn. Other signs of depression include:
- Feeling hopeless or worthless
- Sleeping more than normal
- Having trouble paying attention or making decisions
Talk with your ob-gyn about how you are feeling. Together you can determine if your sadness is depression and discuss what kind of help you need.
See Depression and Postpartum Depression to learn more.
