Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM)
What is AIM?
ACOG was awarded a four-year cooperative agreement in 2014 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) to implement the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) program. Today, AIM continues with additional funding awarded through a subsequent cooperative agreement.
AIM is a national data-driven maternal safety and quality improvement initiative based on interdisciplinary consensus-based practices to improving maternal safety and outcomes. The program provides implementation and data support for the adoption of evidence-based patient safety bundles. AIM works through state teams and health systems to align national, state, and hospital level engagement efforts to improve overall maternal health outcomes.
