Marc Jackson, MD, MBA, Appointed Vice President of Education for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

Washington DC — The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) today announced that Marc Jackson, MD, MBA, has assumed the role of vice president of education.

As the head of ACOG’s education division, Dr. Jackson will oversee the Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting, the freestanding postgraduate continuing medical education courses, and the development of ACOG’s printed and electronic educational materials. He will also oversee the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

“As part of the ACOG team, I am excited to work with my colleagues to maintain our high educational standards which enable obstetrician-gynecologists to provide the very best medical care for our patients,” Dr. Jackson said.

Dr. Jackson also highlighted the importance of innovation, stating, “I look forward to enhancing ACOG’s education program through collaboration and teamwork.”

Hollier, MD, MPH. “With nearly 30 years of experience in our field, Dr. Jackson’s diverse career and dedication to education will enhance our organization and specialty.”

Dr. Jackson comes to ACOG from the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he was a professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology and a maternal-fetal medicine physician. He also practiced maternal-fetal medicine and served as the medical director of interprofessional continuing education at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City.

A graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Jackson completed his residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio and his maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jackson served as chair of ACOG’s Committee on Practice Bulletins – Obstetrics and was on the Editorial Board of the Green Journal, ACOG’s Committee on Obstetric Practice and ACOG’s Evidence-Based Medicine Workgroup.
