Art and the Art of Medicine

There are so many protocols and algorithms that we follow at work—especially with COVID meaningfully affecting our day-to-day hospital activities—and painting is an opportunity for me to be a little more free-thinking. My paintings do all have order (based on light reflectance values and distance measurements), but also just sprout from my brain in a freeform way.

Medicine is a little like that, too—balancing creativity with adherence to various evidence-based regimens.
