The Women’s Wellness through Equity and Leadership (WEL) Project, a collaborative effort among 10 leading U.S. medical associations, works to create healthier, more equitable work experiences for women physicians. Project leaders are now recruiting a diverse group of 50 early- to mid-career women physicians to engage in networking, mentorship, and training around leadership, equity, and wellness.

Each of the 10 organizations is recruiting five scholars, and ACOG wants you to be one of our five. If you’re interested in training and growing professionally in the areas of wellness, equity, and leadership and creating connections with fellow women physicians from across a wide range of specialties who are passionate about the same, apply today! Watch a video featuring six of the members of the inaugural WEL cohort to learn more.

ACOG is seeking a diverse group of applicants for our five available spots. The WEL program encourages a broad definition of diversity, which includes diversity of geographic location (ex, physicians in rural locations), parenting or military status, and specialties or subspecialties in addition to the more traditional definitions of diversity, such as race, ethnicity, and ability. We encourage all diverse applicants to apply!

The 18-month WEL curriculum, which is entirely virtual, includes a kickoff meeting on April 15 and 16; three additional two-day virtual meetings; monthly webinars; and mentoring, networking, and evaluation activities.

This WEL cohort will include members from the 10 WEL partner organizations: ACOG, the AAP, American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Physicians, American Hospital Association, the AMA, American Medical Women’s Association, the APA, National Hispanic Medical Association, and National Medical Association.

The deadline to apply is February 26, 2021. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
