The 50th Anniversary of the ACOG-IHS Collaboration

Fifty years ago, the collaboration between ACOG and IHS began. To mark the occasion, we want to thank you for your guidance, encouragement, and support. Your contributions to this collaboration have made a difference in the lives of many American Indian/Alaska Native women. You have been integral in moving this important work forward.

Since 1970, we have worked together to:

• Conduct over 40 trainings and educational activities for IHS health care clinicians
• Offer our expert opinions during more than 150 maternal health hospital site visits throughout the country
• Collaborate on finding solutions to improve American Indian/Alaska Native women’s health

Most importantly, we have worked side by side with our peers and colleagues in the IHS to serve AI/AN women for 50 years.
