Digital Candidate Forum: Learn About and Hear from ACOG’s 2021 Candidates
Each year, ACOG elects Fellows to national office. ACOG’s 2021 nominations and elections process is already underway. Under normal circumstances, all candidates for national office would participate in ACOG’s Annual Candidates Forum at the ACOG Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting (ACSM) to give speeches about why they want to serve in national office and support our community of members.
But this isn’t an ordinary year. The COVID-19 pandemic meant that ACOG had to cancel its ACSM and other in-person meetings this year, and the Candidates Forum is unable to occur live. But ACOG is dedicated to making sure members are able to learn about who its candidates are and hear from those candidates about why they want to serve ACOG.
This year, virtual interviews were conducted with Dr. Haywood Brown, Chair of the Committee on Nominations. During the sessions, each candidate made a statement as to why they are running for national office and answered questions pertaining to the preferred office(s). We are proud of these Fellows who participated in the National Nominations Candidates Forum and their interest in serving ACOG’s large and diverse membership.

If you would like to provide feedback on any of the candidates for national office, please reach out to the District Nominations Committee representatives at [email protected] by Thursday, June 25, who will present the candidates from their district at the Committee on Nominations meeting. The Committee on Nominations will meet on Saturday, June 27, to select the slate of officer nominees for the 2021-2022 term.
We also encourage members to get involved and participate in ACOG, including by becoming a candidate for local or national office . Our organization is only as strong as our members, and we hope to keep growing.
