Maternal Health Awareness Day is January 23, 2021
Updated December 14, 2020
January 23 is Maternal Health Awareness Day and was established in ACOG District III to educate the citizens of the District about promising maternal health initiatives. This includes implementation of AIM, the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health, which is a national data-driven maternal safety and quality improvement initiative, implemented by a partnership of organizations, with the goal of decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality. The legislation encourages new programs and initiatives to proactively address issues of maternal health and mortality.
District III is proud that all four of our sections have events planned and resources available.
We are planning a program for Maternal Health Awareness Day that will include a prerecorded keynote presentation on Racial Disparities in Maternal Health Care, that will be available online beginning January 22, 2021. Please let us know if you plan to celebrate Maternal Health Awareness Day by completing this brief five-question survey. We would like to compile a list of all Maternal Health Awareness Day programs in our district and share them on our website. In addition, we would like to post photos taken during your program on social media channels.
We look forward to hearing from you. Please let us know if you have any questions.
