Outstanding District Service Award
District II congratulates Nagaraj Gabbur, MD, FACOG, recipient of a 2021 Outstanding District Service Award.
This award recognizes effective leaders and outstanding contributions performed by a Fellow on behalf of their particular district.
2021 Award Recipient
Nagaraj Gabbur, MD, FACOG
Dr. Nagaraj Gabbur graduated from the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and subsequently entered Ob/Gyn Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. After residency he remained at Downstate and became the Director of Medical Education for the Ob/Gyn Department. In this role, he was the 3rd year medical student clerkship director and also responsible for education of the residents.
In 2017, he left Downstate to become the Program Director for the Hofstra Zucker School of Medicine/Northwell Health Ob/Gyn Residency Program at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York.
He currently serves as the Chair for Section IV ACOG District II and also serves as Chair for The Generalists in Medical Education. In November 2020, he will become Chair the AAMC Group on Educational Affairs, the single largest group of medical educators in the United States. He also serves as well as an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Ob/Gyn.
