The 2020 ACOG Annual Business Meeting will be held virtually on April 25 at 12:00 PM Eastern time.
Mark your calendar and plan to join with your peers and ACOG leaders to:
- Learn about ACOG progress over the past year; honor those who have served ACOG and celebrate outstanding contributors; and certify the election of national officers
- Induct Eva Chalas, MD, FACOG, as ACOG’s 71st president and hear her speak about her upcoming presidential initiative
- Gain insight on COVID-19 and its impact on women’s health and physician practices. Six speakers will address topics related to COVID-19, physician practice, and women’s health. These presentations will summarize what we know about COVID-19 and cover best practices for telehealth and billing/coding; offer practical strategies for the perinatal period, labor and delivery, and past partum; provide solutions for ambulatory and inpatient challenges; and, supply strategies for effective advocacy in the time of COVID-19
Access to the live-stream event is free and all ACOG members are encouraged to join by logging on to the ACOG website. If you are not able to participate in the live event, segments will be available later for on-demand viewing, including Dr. Chalas’ presidential address and the COVID-19 panel.
The Annual Business Meeting provides Fellows valuable visibility into ACOG leadership and the important work the College is doing around key initiatives to enhance your practices and improve women’s health.

Eva Chalas, MD
Dr. Eva Chalas obtained her MD degree from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine, completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at its Medical Center, and her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where in 1998, she served as an American Cancer Society Fellow. Dr. Chalas is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Gynecologic Oncology, and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
Dr. Chalas has held leadership positions as Governor in the American College of Surgeons, Secretary-Treasurer of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), and served on the board of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer. She has also been a member of numerous committees of ACOG and has served as Chair of ACOG District II. In 2019, she was nominated as President Elect of ACOG.
Dr. Chalas is the Physician Director of Center for Cancer Care, Professor at the NYU Long Island School of Medicine, and Vice-Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Winthrop Hospital, where she practices, caring for women with gynecologic cancers or complex gynecologic problems. Dr. Chalas has been a steadfast supporter of women’s health. She is involved in clinical research and has published and lectured extensively, particularly on prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers.
