The virtual meeting will feature the expertise of experienced and knowledgeable faculty who will address multiple topics that are fundamental and critically important to residents and prepare participants to be teachers and leaders.
The purpose of CREOG Resident Leadership Workshops is to equip residents in obstetrics and gynecology with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as leaders and exemplary teachers for junior residents and medical students for whom they are responsible. This program will expose participants to general principles of leadership and education and provide specific tips for immediate practice and application.
The curriculum is designed for obstetrics and gynecology residents who will be directly responsible for administration and teaching. Administrative responsibilities may include scheduling, coaching, team leading, and serving as a liaison between the faculty and other residents. The curriculum will address interpersonal issues such as providing performance feedback, managing conflict and guiding clinical and educational activities. Given the intricacies of balancing a personal and professional life, residents will gain insight into how best to manage themselves in both arenas. Residency programs will benefit from greater clinical efficiency; better educational endeavors; improved interpersonal relationships; and increased effectiveness of workshop attendees and, to a degree, other residents in attendees' programs.
