Practical Conversations: Improving Health Outcomes in Women With Obesity

Saturday, September 16, 2023
Provided by: The Institute for Medical and Nursing Education, Inc.

Obesity is a significant health challenge and public health concern in women, and obstetricians and gynecologists (ob-gyns) are well positioned to address this. Evidence points to a lack of knowledge and confidence among ob-gyn healthcare professionals (HCPs) in discussing obesity with women under their care and implementing appropriate management. This program will use case studies to focus on the health risks of obesity and excess weight in women and provide clinically applicable tools for discussing obesity management with patients.

Topics will include:

  • Best practice for initiating discussions on the topic of weight and fostering a supportive environment.
  • The impact of weight on women’s health disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), infertility, pregnancy outcomes, and metabolic parameters.
  • Evidence-based information regarding implementation of obesity treatments, including pharmacotherapy options.

Registration for this session will be available onsite.
