The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists designates this live activity for a maximum of 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

College Cognate Credit(s)

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists designates this live activity for a maximum of 14 Category 1 College Cognate Credits. The College has a reciprocity agreement with the AMA that allows AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to be equivalent to College Cognate Credits.

The breakdown of the number of credits for each day of the meeting is as follows:

  • Friday, September 29 = 6.75 credits
  • Saturday, September 30 = 5.25 credits
  • Sunday, October 1 = 2 credits

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain what coaching is and how it can benefit a physician professionally and personally. Review professional and personal examples of coaching foci. Learn how effective coaching can assist physicians to better navigate their professional and personal lives, as well as build the capacity to influence the systems that affect their well-being.
  2. Review indications for referral to a reproductive endocrinologist and discuss updates in fertility care; including best practices for unexplained infertility, and utility of preimplantation genetic testing. Discuss current surgical practices for infertility patients with structural diagnoses such as fibroids and hydrosalpinx. Diagnose and treat polycystic ovary syndrome; fertility care and long-term management.
  3. Describe common mistakes we make with daily nutrition decisions; explain how intermittent fasting can help optimize health and; discuss the role inadequate sleep can play in performance.
  4. Explain best practices for Maternal Mortality Review Committees (MMRCs) and describe the role MMRCs can play in a state for helping reduce maternal mortality.
  5. Describe how life coaching may help optimize goal attainment. Describe the stages of grief and how to move between them. Explain thought modeling and the role it can play in helping physicians and patients think differently during difficult times.
