Stop the Spread Campaign
To end this public health crisis, we must do all we can to stop the spread of COVID-19
Updated September 2021
COVID-19 is deeply impacting our members, patients, and communities. During the pandemic, we are working to address our members’ needs and the needs of their patients. It is imperative that we do all we can to stop the spread of disease and end this public health crisis.
Vaccination is Key
Vaccination is key to protecting against severe disease and saving lives. COVID-19 vaccines are effective at helping protect against severe disease and death from variants of the virus that causes COVID-19 currently circulating, including the Delta variant.
ACOG recommends that all pregnant individuals be vaccinated against COVID-19. This recommendation reflects evidence demonstrating the known safety of the vaccines and the increased risk of severe complications associated with COVID-19 infection.
ACOG also continues to support the CDC’s COVID-19 mitigation guidance: Mask-wearing requirements are part of a comprehensive public health strategy to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 including in schools and on public transit.
