Committees and Special Projects

Get involved by joining one of our committees or special projects. These groups address issues that are of interest to members and the communities where they work.

Maternal Mortality Committee

This Committee works to address maternal mortality rates in District VII.

Committee members are expected to:

  • Participate in quarterly conference calls or meetings
  • Support the continuation of their Section's MMRC
  • Assist in planning Maternal Mortality activities and events at the Annual District Meeting

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence (DEIE) Committee

This committee works to identify inequities and barriers to inclusion with the goal of achieving a more inclusive community where every member thrives and where the perspective of every member is heard, supported, and valued.

Committee members are expected to:

  • Participate in quarterly conference calls
  • Determine key areas of focus
  • Brainstorm innovative ways to bring DEIE to District VII
  • Assist in planning DEIE activities and events at the Annual District Meeting

HPV Vaccination Committee

The goal of the HPV Vaccination committee is to improve HPV vaccine rates and prevent cervical cancer across District VII.

Committee members are expected to:

  • Participate in quarterly conference calls or meetings
  • Connect ob-gyns in their local communities to other groups who are also working to increase HPV vaccination rates in their sections
  • Assist in planning HPV Vaccination activities and events at the Annual District Meeting
