Opioid Use Disorder: Speakers Bureau
Between March 2019 and September 2021, District IX was engaged in a project to provide education on opioid use disorder (OUD) and universal screening for all pregnant women through free one-hour presentations for obstetricians, nurses, certified nurse-midwives, office staff, and anyone providing outpatient services to pregnant women.
We trained 29 speakers from throughout the state who presented local and regional training in opioid use disorder, beginning in-person and shifting to virtual in 2020.
You can find a recording of one of these presentations, the slide deck, and links to ACOG resources on OUD below. While our project concluded at the end of September 2021, District IX will continue efforts to eliminate this devastating disease and improve perinatal outcomes.
