District IV Forum August 2018: From the Chair
From the Chair
Dr. Wade Neiman, FACOG, District IV Chair
Hello from your District IV chair!
Since assuming the duties of chair of District IV slightly earlier than scheduled after last year’s Annual District meeting in Charlotte, I have been busy learning the nuances of a chair’s life and duties and appreciating the ever-present reminders of the honor it is to serve the Fellows of the District. I reaffirm my respect for our past chair, Dr. Thomas Hepfer, and appreciate the stable condition in which he has left the District.
I would like to remind everyone of this year’s combined Annual District meeting with District VI. Under the guidance of Dr. Scott Sullivan and Dr. Thaddeus Anderson, we are completing Dr. Hepfer’s original theme with this year’s theme of “Wellness Revisited.” Mark your calendar for September 28–30 and spend a beautiful fall weekend with us at the Hyatt Regency Savannah Hotel. We will continue the tradition of the chair’s honored guest lecture; the Nagey Perinatal Outreach Lecture; the A. Cullen Richardson Memorial Lecture; and, of course, Stump the Professors.
I have planned a combined meeting with District VII and District XI next year in New Orleans and a District IV meeting in Virginia. Keep these meetings on your radar as well.
For the remainder of my term as chair, I hope to consolidate some of our already present programs into more District-wide reports. We are moving forward on maternal mortality and the entire District is working toward 100 percent AIM participation.
Please let me or your Section officers know how ACOG can serve you better in the years to come.
