Resident Advocacy Program

The Resident Advocacy Program (RAP) helps ob-gyn residents gain a greater understanding of policy and political factors that shape the future of the specialty.

The program seeks to prepare a new generation of physicians to influence the future of our healthcare delivery system and offers the opportunity to participate in the political process in the state capital of Albany, NY.

Funding

RAP consists of a two-day, one night trip to Albany for up to two residents per program and includes travel, lodging and select meals.

Due to the RAP’s continued success, District II is adding a new selection component to the RAP application process. Residents will now complete the online registration application, which includes submitting a 250 word statement of interest in physician advocacy. Registration acceptance will be based, in part, on the submitted statement.

Interested residents should check in with their Program Director to find the opportunity that best meets their needs.
