Our Position

In the states, ACOG advocates against legislation to weaken physician Maintenance of Certification (MOC), which interferes with decades of successful self-regulation.

Doctors – not lawmakers – should set standards for lifelong learning. Each medical specialty has its own experience with its MOC program, and one-size-fits-all legislation is not the solution.
