ACOG Resources on Payment

ACOG is dedicated to providing our Fellows with educational resources to assist with the transition from a volume to value-based health system. This page will be continually updated with Grand Rounds and other resources to assist in the transition. If you have specific questions about value-based payment models or other payment concepts, please visit our new Practice Management Ticket Database to reach a member of the ACOG health economics and practice management team.

Alternative Payment Model Principles Document

While ACOG recognizes that no single approach to payment reform will work for all physicians, we put together a list of guiding principles for our Fellows to consider as they explore creating or joining an Alternative Payment Model (APM). We believe these principles are imperative to the successful creation and uptake of APMs for ACOG members in order to improve women’s health outcomes, transform the delivery of obstetric and gynecological care, and bring down costs in our health system.
