Multi-Specialty Portfolio Program (MSPP)

 Multi-Specialty Portfolio Program (MSPP)

The American Board of Medical Specialties’ (ABMS) Multi-Specialty Portfolio Program (MSPP) offers an alternate Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV pathway that promotes broader physician involvement in systems-level maternal safety and quality improvement efforts. Participation in QI Efforts approved by the ACOG MSPP Portfolio Program allows physicians to earn MOC Part IV: Improvement in Medical Practice credit from their ABMS Member Board. To date, 20 out of 24 ABMS Medical Boards participate in the MSPP Program.

ACOG became an ABMS MSPP Sponsor Organization in October 2016 and the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Program was the initial, primary ACOG MSPP Program QI effort offered. Additional eligible QI efforts have and continue to be added to the ACOG portfolio.

If you are interested in participating in the ACOG MSPP Program via AIM or another QI effort, please email mspp@acog.org for more information. Access additional details about ABOG’s Improvement in Medical Practice (Part IV) MOC requirement here.
