Join American College of Surgeons

Greetings ACOG Junior Fellows!

My name is Heather Williams and I am the new representative from JFCAC to the American College of Surgeons (ACS). I would like to briefly introduce everyone to ACS and make a case for joining!

There are two types of memberships Junior Fellows can apply for:

  1. For Junior Fellows in Training (Residents and Fellows):

    1. Link to Resident recruitment flyer that lists all the opportunities and benefits of membership in greater detail:

      1. https://www.facs.org/~/media/files/member%20services/member%20benefits/residentbenefits.ashx

    2. Link to Resident membership form your Program Director needs to fill out:

      1. https://www.facs.org/~/media/files/member%20services/member%20benefits/resident_verification.ashx

      2.

    3. Cost: $20!

  2. For Junior Fellows in Practice:

    1. Link to Resident recruitment flyer that lists all the opportunities and benefits of membership in greater detail:

Why should you join ACS?

  1. The cost is very reasonable for residents and fellows! J

  3. Networking opportunities

  4. Involvement in Advocacy for surgery specific issues

    1. ACS Leadership and Advocacy Summit held yearly

  5. Online education courses with topics including ERAS and opioid management in the postoperative setting

  6. Registration discounts and scholarship opportunities to attend the ACS annual Clinical Congress

    1. Research abstracts can be submitted as well so another opportunity to present!

Finally, here is a link to a video made by the former RAS-ACS Ob/Gyn Representative discussing the benefits of membership.
