Health Care Reform

ACOG has a long and strong history of supporting access to health care for all women. Ob-gyns see first-hand the devastating effect a lack of insurance and underinsurance can have on our patients, and understand how current laws affect our practices. ACOG fights to ensure accessible and affordable health care for all.

Although ACOG reluctantly opposed the ACA, we do not support repeal of the law, which would roll back the landmark women's health gains. Doing so would turn back the clock on women's health.

As Congress and the administration move forward on health care reform, ACOG's Health Reform Principles will be used to judge any potential reforms to the current system under the Affordable Care Act.
