Clinical Practice: Early Indicated Delivery? ACOG Has an App for That!

ACOG’s App now features an Indicated Delivery Calculator Applet that provides timing of delivery suggestions for select conditions. This beta-tested calculator applet is based on ACOG guidance, including the Committee Opinion 560: Medically Indicated Late-Preterm and Early-Term Deliveries.

Key features include:

  • Ability to calculate a suggested delivery date based off both the condition and a patient’s estimated due date/estimated gestational age
  • Rationale for the suggested timing of delivery
  • References to related ACOG clinical guidance
  • Ability to email or print results for use in counseling patients and/or documentation on the patient’s record

The Indicated Delivery Calculator Applet is updated regularly to incorporate any changes in ACOG clinical guidance regarding timing of delivery.

To get the Indicated Delivery Calculator Applet, you need to download the free ACOG App:

Current users of the ACOG App who want this Indicated Delivery Calculator Applet will need to update the ACOG App from Google Play or App Store. Running the in-App updates do not install the Indicated Delivery Calculator. ACOG App users must sign in to access the Indicated Delivery Calculator Applet. For more information, visit www.acog.org/acogapp.
