Practice Management: Enhance Your Practice with ACOG Coding Workshops

Are you and your staff up to date on appropriate coding and billing practices? ACOG’s popular coding workshops cover coding, billing, the effective use of the International Classification of Diseases Tenth Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), and the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding systems as they pertain to obstetrics and gynecology.

What makes us better than other Coding programs?

An ob-gyn physician member from ACOG’s Health Economics and Coding Committee attends each workshop as a clinical resource! Many of these physicians have served as advisors to the AMA-CPT Editorial Panel, or as Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) advisors and delegates. The ACOG Coding Committee is heavily involved with new CPT and ICD-10-CM code development and revisions.

New in 2017 Coding Workshops

In 2017, ACOG’s coding workshops will include basic information on new physician payment models that are part of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) requirements. In addition to intensive instruction for both diagnosis and procedure coding, session discussions will include information on how correct coding in both the current and new payment environments will contribute to better data collection and successful implementation of any of the new value-based care models.

Each workshop is three days long, and each day’s session will last from four to seven hours. Physicians may attend one, two, or all three session days, depending on their interest and their practices. Each day’s presentation includes a Q&A session, discussions, and case studies.

The sessions for each day are:

  • E/M Services and Medicare’s Documentation Guidelines
  • Procedural Coding
  • Obstetric Coding
