Clinical Practice: Women's Preventive Services Initiative (WPSI) Call for Member and Public Comment on New Topics

Through a five-year cooperative agreement with the US Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), ACOG has engaged a coalition of national health professional organizations and consumer and patient advocates with expertise in women's health across the lifespan to develop, review, and update recommendations for women's preventive health care services.

As part of its recommendation development process, ACOG is soliciting public comment for three new topics for women's preventive health care services:

  • Screening for postpartum diabetes
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Premenstrual syndrome

Criteria for new topic selection is primarily based on associated morbidity and mortality, impact on women’s overall wellness, and availability of quality evidence.

The Call for Public Comment opened on February 9, 2017 and closes on March 9, 2017.

We welcome your feedback on the proposed topics and value your contributions to this collaborative consensus process. It will be strengthened by your engagement and improved by your expertise.
