Patient Education Tip of the Month: Nutrition

Share the Patient Education Tip of the Month with your patients during the month of March.

March is National Nutrition Month. Your body needs a balanced supply of nutrients to grow, replace worn-out tissue, and provide energy. Not getting enough of these important nutrients can affect your health, but eating too much food and excess calories can lead to health problems. A balanced diet should include a combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.

To learn more about these building blocks of a healthful diet as well as fiber, calcium, vitamin D, iron, and folic acid, read ACOG’s FAQ on Healthy Eating.
