Patient Education Tip of the Month: Safety

June is National Safety Month. Share the Patient Education Tip of the Month with your patients during the month of June, and help keep them safe.

Seatbelts and car seats save lives. If you are pregnant, wear a seatbelt. After the baby is born, he or she should always ride in a rear-facing car seat in the backseat of the car. Local fire or police stations often sponsor programs to check car seats to make sure they are properly installed. For more information on safe car travel, read ACOG’s patient FAQ on Car Safety for Pregnant Women, Babies, and Children.
