Practice Management: We Want to Hear From You: Give Us Feedback on an Alternative Payment Model for Benign Hysterectomy

ACOG convened a multi-stakeholder panel, including representatives from AAGL, the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS), the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons (SGS), and the patient community, to develop an episode group and corresponding performance measure concepts around hysterectomy for benign indications. Your expertise is critically important to this process, and your comments will help to ensure that the episode and performance measures can be applied across the breadth of practice patterns, settings, and patient populations.

Your input is requested on the following:

  • Services that trigger the episode
  • Services and diagnoses that are included in the episode
  • Sequelae that ob-gyns will be responsible for during the episode
  • Proposed length of the episode (45 days)

ACOG is also seeking comment on the design of related quality measures, which are meant to assess performance and determine whether high-quality care is being delivered.

You can review the proposed episode group and quality measure concepts on ACOG’s website. Comments are now open through June 19, 2017.
