An innovative Ob/Gyn initiative has been launched by The George
Washington University Medical Center in partnership with Physicians
for Peace, the Eritrean Ministry of Health, and in collaboration with
Columbia University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We are
seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Ob/Gyn who is interested
in a commitment to serve as Visiting Faculty for the newly developed
Ob/Gyn residency program in Eritrea, East Africa. This unique training
program has aims to build Eritrea’s health care workforce, train
Eritrean physicians in Ob/Gyn and ensure sustainability by training
Eritrean physicians as future medical educators.
Visiting faculty members will round with ward teams, attend outpatient
general and/or sub-specialty clinics, and participate in evaluation of
trainees. Visiting faculty may also assist in establishing diagnostic
and treatment protocols. A minimum of two weeks is required for
