Women and Exercise Description
|
This monograph is designed to enable obstetricians-gynecologists to:
- Broaden the perception of the types of programs that can be used to develop an exercise fitness program
- Explain how to evaluate increased aerobic capacity as a result of an exercise program
- Counsel a patient in a weight-loss program with exercise as a component
- Understand the relative roles of muscle strength, bone density, and flexibility as part of an exercise program
- Evaluate menstrual dysfunction occuring during a vigorous exercise program
- Understand the concept of "life-long" exercise and the impact on chronic heart disease and diabetes
- Appreciate the imapact of exercise on pregnancy and the fetus
Self-assessment questions are included at the end of each monograph. 5 CME credits will be awarded per issue.
