Early Pregnancy Loss: Miscarriage and Molar Preg.

Item #AP090

Early Pregnancy Loss: Miscarriage and Molar Preg. Description
A normal pregnancy is about 40 weeks. The loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks is called early pregnancy loss. Often, the loss is a miscarriage (sometimes called spontaneous abortion by doctors). A rare form of pregnancy loss is molar pregnancy.

The loss of a pregnancy-no matter how early-involves more than the loss of a fetus. For many women, miscarriage also results in feelings of loss and grief.

This pamphlet explains:

  • Some causes of early pregnancy loss
  • Signs and symptoms of pregnancy loss
  • What to expect after the loss
