This segment from the TODAY SHOW is a surprisingly well-balanced presentation of the 'pros' and 'cons' of home birthing.  ACOG's position is and has always been, on the side of patient safety.  As the segment points out, when things go wrong, time is critical and may mean the difference between life and death of the newborn or the mother.
