Missouri Department of Insurance Investigating Health Plans

The Missouri Department of Insurance has begun an investigation of Health Plans that may be systematically in violation of, or circumventing the intent of, current state regulations regarding 'prompt payment' to physicians, hospitals and other care providers.  This might also impact payments to individual patients being reimbursed by Health Plans for 'out of pocket' expenses.

The Department does not recongnize any complaints other than those made on specified forms. This can be done online or by FAX or mail using these specific forms.  Physcians and Doctor's offices can use this form to file complaints directly to the Department of Insurance by FAX.  The number to use for FAX is:  (573) 526-4898.
If  you wish to mail the form use this address:

Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration
Attn: Consumer Affairs
P.O. Box 690
Jefferson City, MO 65102-0690

If you suspect you have been subjected to fraud by your Halth Plan, you may use the Fraud Complaint Form and use the above information for sending your complaint.
