Armed Forces District Meeting in Hawaii. If you can attend please plan to stay at the host hotel, The Hilton Hawaiian Village. They are giving us a great rate and it is important that our district fill our block of rooms. Abstracts are due no later than August 31st. Free money/Free trip to Hawaii. Three trips to Hawaii will be awarded to Junior Fellows via the Junior Fellow Education Fund. The applications are located on the ACOG website. Applications due by August 15th. Winners announced September 1st.
If you are collecting cases for your oral board exam or just want to know more about the path to becoming a fellow please plan to attend the JF Professional Development Course Wednesday afternoon Nov 18th. If you plan to attend please see AFD website and send application and case list to Dr Casablanca by September 1st. Application posted on ACOG AFD JF website.

Junior Fellow essay contest: Title Healthcare for Women: Healthcare for all. Deadline likely Nov 1st. Winner receives $500 and essay is published in the peer reviewed Green Journal
Medical Students Gibbons Award application is now available on the ACOG website. Funding for three medical students to attend our district meeting will be provided.
Shingo exchange (April 2009): Ben Kase represented our district and has a description and photos on our district website. Our district has been chosen to host the Shingo Japanese exchange residents. So be sure to make the Japanese exchange residents feel welcome!
2009 AFD Professor of the Year. We need nominations. If you would like to honor and show appreciation to your mentor please email me two supporting letters and the CV of the professor you are nominating. (The secretary for the professor should have the CV) The list of previous recipients is on the AFD website.
