The award will be given to an individual who has mentored a young physician in practice. Teachers of residents are not eligible. The award requires a nomination by a Junior Fellow in practice and must be related to the mentoring in the early years of practice. The District Junior Fellow Chair must sign the nomination form to assure the criteria have been met. The details are:
Name: ACOG Mentor Award
Eligibility: Any ACOG Fellow who has actively mentored a young Fellow or Junior Fellow as they begin post residency practice.
Nominee: Any Junior Fellow in Practice or young physician who meets ACOG Young Physician criteria may nominate a mentor.
When Submitted: The nominations must be submitted any time during the May to February time period.

Award: Only one award for each District will be given annually.
Recognition: The awardees will receive a certificate, a lapel pin and be highlighted in ACOG Today.
The first awards will be selected by the Committee on Honors and Recognitions at their May 2010 meeting.
