Junior Fellow ACOG Awards
1) JSOG/ACOG Exchange Program
Description: an all-expense paid exchange program with the ACOG in Japan.
ACOG Candidate Criteria:
-active ACOG Junior Fellow Member
-Current PGY4 resident in good standing
District VI Specific Candidate Criteria:
-current junior fellow district or section officer
-current Program Representative Program
-letter of intent and CV submitted by the candidate
-documented exemplary service to ACOG at the section, district or national level
Selection Process (anually):
July 1st: Deadline for nominations.
August 1st: A single nominee and one alternate are chosen.
August 15th: Nominees and alternates are submitted to the District VI Executive Committee for approval.
September 1st: Candidate is notified of his/her selection.
Requirements of the Junior Fellow who is selected:
Submission of post-exchange program experience report.
2) John Burch Endowment Fund
Description: $1000 award at the national level to support one junior fellow to attend the Annual Clinical Meeting. District VI matches the amount of $1000 to fund the awardee.
ACOG Candidate Criteria:
-active ACOG Junior Fellow Member
-current resident only, preferably in the 3rd or 4th year
-submission of a current CV and letter of interest
Selection Process (anually):
October 1st: Call for qualified nominees, ideally one resident per program in the district.
January 1st: Deadline for submission.
February 28th: Award recipient notified.
Requirements of the Junior Fellow Award Winner:
Submission of report within 2 weeks after the ACM experience.
