COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This webcast will outline the coding challenges and opportunities presented by electronic medical records. The appropriate use of the coding and documentation tools available in many EMRs will be discussed. The webcast will also identify potential legal and clinical issues associated with EMR designs and usage, and will also outline key attributes important in an effective and compliant EMR.


OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of the presentation, the participants will be able to:

  • Recognize key challenges and opportunities associated with EMRs
  • Discuss how to appropriately use coding and documentation tools such as templates, documentation macros, E/M coding tools, and coding search functions
  • Identify EMR features necessary to ensure compliance with coding, documentation, and other government and legal requirements

Fee is charged per computer. There is no limit as to the number of listeners at each site. If registering several different sites, each one must register separately.
