COURSE DESCRIPTION:
As the economics of health care become more and more challenging, the temptation to behave unethically in coding increases. In order to ensure ethical coding, those involved must understand what causes ethical dilemmas to develop and how to resolve ethical challenges when they arise. Significant attention will be given to OB/GYN-specific case studies.


OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this session, the attendee will be able to:

  • List the various reasons why ethical dilemmas occur
  • Discuss ethical issues that are unique to medical billing and coding, with a focus on OB/GYN coding
  • Evaluate and analyze the ethical issues at work in specific situations, using case studies
  • Develop strategies and protocols for avoiding/handling ethical dilemmas in your work

Fee is charged per computer. There is no limit as to the number of listeners at each site. If registering several different sites, each one must register separately.
