Webcast: Understanding Ultrasound Coding

This webcast will address the nuances of CPT and ICD-CM coding for ultrasound services in the office and the hospital settings. It will also look at the CPT guidance for reporting diagnostic testing services and the implications this has for coding and reimbursement for specific clinical circumstances. The recent challenges posed by third-party payers in reimbursement for ultrasound services will also be discussed.

Upon completion of the presentation, the participants should be able to:

  • Apply CPT guidelines for reporting and documenting ultrasound services
  • Identify when to apply the TC, PC, and other modifiers to ultrasound services
  • Explain the distinctions between specific obstetrical and non-obstetrical codes
  • Recognize the role of ICD-CM codes in the reimbursement process for ultrasound services

Fee is charged per computer. There is no limit as to the number of listeners at each site. If registering several different sites, each one must register separately.
