COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is intended for obstetrician-gynecologists, family medicine specialists, nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners. Topics will include:

  • diabetes mellitus in pregnancy
  • prenatal diagnosis
  • obstetric infections
  • evaluation and management of patients with depression and those on chronic opioid medications
  • contraception
  • assessment of the infertile couple
  • recurrent abortion
  • oncofertility
  • multiple gestation
  • thrombophilia and antiphospholipid syndrome
  • obesity in pregnancy

Other topics will include evaluation of life-threatening conditions such as septic shock, necrotizing fasciitis, ectopic pregnancy and septic pelvic vein thrombophlebitis.
