Modifiers and the Global Surgical Package

This webcast will describe the components of the CPT and Medicare Global Surgical Packages. The course will specifically look at services that are inclusive to the package as well as services that are appropriately reported in addition to the surgical CPT code. Key surgical modifiers important to OB/Gyn practices will be described through the use of case studies. The CMS National Correct Coding Initiative and the appropriate application of the associated modifiers will be explained.


Upon completion of the presentation, the participants should be able to demonstrate:

  • The differences between the CPT and Medicare global surgical packages
  • How to effectively use global package modifiers to obtain appropriate reimbursement
  • The application of the CMS National Correct Coding Initiative to clinical practice
