In Support of Marilyn Tavenner for CMS Administrator
February 7, 2013
Washington, DC -- The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists strongly supports the nomination of Marilyn Tavenner as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Ms. Tavenner brings 35 years of experience in working with health care providers and administering health care systems and agencies. She has earned respect and support from state and federal policy makers and advocates for her deep knowledge and commitment to improving health care safety and quality while increasing efficiency.
We urge Congress to confirm Ms. Tavenner’s nomination without delay. Our nation’s health care system is changing rapidly, especially with implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Patients, physicians, and other health care providers are counting on a steady, experienced hand to lead this change.
