The mission of the Pennsylvania Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is to be an advocate in the Commonwealth for lifelong health care for all women; to promote professionalism among obstetricians and gynecologists throughout Pennsylvania; and to facilitate communication among various constituencies related to women's health care.
Activities and endeavors consistent with this mission for the Section include, but are not limited to:
- Promoting public health issues central to women in Pennsylvania
- Promoting access to health care for women in the state
- Promoting excellence in maternal and neonatal health care
- Educating physicians throughout their training and careers in current aspects of women's health care
- Serving as a resource for evaluation and application of new technologies
- Educating others involved in the provision of health care to women
- Fostering mentoring of junior fellows to better educate their patients in issues in health care
- Participating with a network of women's groups on health issues through communication and facilitation of action
- Facilitating direct patient awareness and education in women's health
