Gibbons Award

The Gibbons Award is to be distributed to medical students in order to fund travel to ACOG meetings (either the ACM or the ADM) with the purpose of encouraging their interest in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology.

For 2015, District IV will be funding the Gibbons Award recipients to the Annual District Meeting in Boston, MA.

Fellow Section Chairs select the final award recipients and award amounts. If you are interested in applying, please express your interest to your individual Fellow Section Chair (See Officer Roster) or email District IV Program Manager, Michelle Morse at to obtain this information. Your Fellow Section Chair will be able to send you the brief application and explain the selection process.

Section Junior Fellow Officers will serve as mentors for their Gibbons Award Medical Students at the conference and introduce them to Fellows in their Section and District.

Gibbons Award recipients must follow-up with a reflection on their experience and submit an expense voucher within 30 days.

If the required documents (receipts and reflection statement) are not received within 30 days the student will not be reimbursed.

This is a wonderful opportunity for medical students to participate in the Annual District Meeting! Be sure to encourage interested medical students to apply early!
