2015 Junior Fellow Day

ATTENTION District III (PA, NJ and DE) Junior Fellows and Medical Students - Plan to attend Junior Fellow Day on Friday, August 21, 2015.

New location this year!  2015 Junior Fellow Day will be held at the Helene Fuld Pavilion for Innovating Learning, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Philadelphia, PA.

Directions & Parking

We encourage attendees to take public transportation when possible.  A parking garage is available at 34th and Chestnut.  The cost to park is $17.

Directions

From the Northeast - via the New Jersey Turnpike South Use Exit 4. Bear right out of the toll following signs to Philadelphia and Ben Franklin Bridge. After crossing the bridge take I-676 West, to I-76 East, the Schuylkill Expressway. Follow I-76 to exit 346A (South Street, old exit #40, left lane exit). Turn right onto South Street to enter campus. At 3rd traffic light, turn left onto 34th Street. Continue to follow 34th Street as it curves to the right and becomes Civic Center Blvd (you will pass HUP & Children's Hospitals on the right). Turn right onto Osler Circle. The School of Nursing  is straight ahead. 

 

From the North via the Pennsylvania Turnpike - On the PA turnpike, use Exit 326, the Valley Forge Interchange. Take I-76 East for approximately 17 miles to Exit 346A (South Street, old exit #40, left lane exit). Turn right onto South Street to enter campus. At 3rd traffic light, turn left onto 34th Street. Continue to follow 34th Street as it curves to the right and becomes Civic Center Blvd (you will pass HUP & Children's Hospitals on the right). Turn right onto Osler Circle. The School of Nursing is straight ahead. 

 

From the North via I-95 South - Use the I-676/Center City Philadelphia Exit. Follow signs to I-676 West, the Vine Street Expressway. Take I-676 West until I-76 East, the Schuylkill Expressway. Follow I-76 East to Exit 346A (South Street, old exit #40, left lane exit). Turn right onto South Street to enter campus. At 3rd traffic light, turn left onto 34th Street. From the South via I-95 North - Use the I-676/Center City Philadelphia Exit which is approximately 7 miles north of the airport. Turn right onto South Street to enter campus. At 3rd traffic light, turn left onto 34th Street. About the Program...

Attendees can expect to learn “What ACOG Does for You,” attend the Junior Fellow Paper Presentation competition, participate in our new “All-In for Advocacy” session which will review the implications of legislation for women’s health care, the role of a physician advocate, ACOG’s mission and structure, and advocacy tools and resources for clinicians, participate in round table discussions on academic, private practice or subspecialty training options, participate in several hands-on Simulation Stations, and participate in a fun Jeopardy game. 

Luncheon Round Table discussions include helpful and practical tips for the Ob-Gyn Generalist, Private Practitioner, Advocacy, Mentorship/ACOG Involvement and subspecialty training including REI, MFM, Urogyn, Onc, and Family Planning.

Medical Students can expect to participate in hands on simulation sessions including IUD placement, Suturing, the Cervical exam, Vaginal delivery, Knot tying, and the Bi-annual exam.
