Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
Provides access to a variety of government measures for Quality and Patient Safety, Research, Evidence Based Medicine, and Research.

Ambulatory Quality Alliance  (AQA)
Offers parameters for physician performance, principles of efficiency measures, and performance measures for ambulatory care

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists 
Offers performance measures with recently released College Practice Bulletins.

American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS/NSQIP)
The ACS NSQIP collects data on 133 variables, including preoperative risk factors, intraoperative variables, and 30-day postoperative mortality and morbidity outcomes for patients undergoing major surgical procedures in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

American Hospital Association - Quality Center (AHA)
The AHA  Quality  Centeris a resource of the AHA designed to help hospitals accelerate their quality improvement processes to achieve better outcomes for patients and improve organizational performance. 

American Medical Association Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (AMA)
The American Medical Association (AMA)-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement® (Consortium) is committed to enhancing quality of care and patient safety by taking the lead in the development, testing, and maintenance of evidence-based clinical performance measures and measurement resources for physicians.

The Commonwealth Fund
The Commonwealth Fund promotes a high-performing healthcare system to achieve better access and improved quality.

Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (CAHPS)
The CAHPS program is a public-private initiative to develop standardized surveys of patients' experiences with ambulatory and facility-level care.

Health Care Innovations Exchange
This website is an AHRQ program designed to support health care professionals in sharing and adopting innovations to improve health care delivery.  There is a link to qualitytools, resources, and innovations.

Health Research and Educational Trust Quality and Patient Safety in partnership with the American Hospital Association (HRET)
HRET is engaged in programs designed to improve the quality of health care and the safety of its patients.

The Joint Commission - Performance Measurement

Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (MOREOB)
This is a patient safety, professional development, and performance improvement program for hospital obstetrics units. The website has information on the MOREOB and Advancing with MOREOB programs.

National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF)
The mission of the NPSF is to Improve the Safety of Patients through our efforts to: Identify and create a core body of knowledge; Identify pathways to apply the knowledge; Develop and enhance the culture of receptivity to patient safety; Raise public awareness and foster communications about patient safety; and Improve the status of the Foundation and its ability to meet its goals.

National Quality Forum
Offers performance measures on ambulatory care.

The National Quality Measures Clearinghouse
AHRQ offers a database of evidence-based measures by multiple organizations throughout the healthcare field.  There is also information on how to create measures and validate measures.

Patient Safety and Medical Errors
A major Federal initiative has been launched to reduce medical errors and improve patient safety in federally funded health care programs, and by example and partnership, in the private sector.

Quality Indicators
AHRQ’s Quality Indicators (QIs) are measures of health care quality that make use of readily available hospital inpatient administrative data.

Provides access to reports and tools on quality information and improvement.

Veterans Administration National Center for Patient Safety (NCPS)
The NCPS was established in 1999 to develop and nurture a culture of safety throughout the Veterans Health Administration.
