reVITALize Obstetric Data Definitions

An Overview

The reVITALize Obstetric Data Definitions Conference in took place in August 2012 and brought together over 80 national leaders in women’s health care with the common goal of standardizing clinical obstetric data definitions for use in registries, electronic medical record systems, and vital statistics. Over the course of the two-day in-person meeting and the months that followed, more than 60 obstetrical definitions were reviewed, discussed, and refined. The full executive summary of the reVITALize Obstetric Data Definitions Conference can be read here.

Comments on the proposed revised definitions were collected during a period of open Public Comment from November 15, 2012 to January 15, 2013. All comments received during this time have been carefully reviewed and considered by reVITALize leadership. The final revised definitions are expected to be released in mid-2014.
