The
CREOG Clearinghouse
provides ongoing referral service for ob-gyn residency positions. These referrals are handled by an automatic answering machine. You may reach the Clearinghouse by calling (202) 863-2559.
The ACOG Resource Centeroffers
free Medline searches in ob/gyn
to any member of ACOG. For further information, contact the ACOG Resource Center, 409 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20024-2188- (202) 863-2518/2519.
The Job Placement Service provides ACOG Fellows and Junior Fellows with a link between physicians searching for job opportunities and ob-gyn positions available nationwide. ACOG Career Connection, a member of HealtheCareers Network is a physician network database that provides job opportunities that are updated regularly and are targeted specifically to obstetrics and gynecology on the internet via the ACOG website. The department manages and serves as liaison to ACOG Career Connection and assists in promoting and marketing this service to ACOG members, was well as coordinates the ACOG job placement booth at the ACM and job fairs at the district meetings. FACOG - Fellow of The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists
is a category of membership in ACOG. Qualifications for Fellowship in ACOG are graduation from a medical school and completion of postgraduate training, continuous training and/or professional activities to obstetrics and/or gynecology for the five years immediately prior to the date of application, successful completion of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology examinations, Parts I and II or Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of England examination, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Quebec examination and attainment of high ethical and professional standing as determined by the Fellows in the candidate’s district.
Junior Fellow
is a category of membership in ACOG. Junior Fellows are residents in approved ob/gyn programs or graduates of these programs. You may remain a Junior Fellow for ten years from the beginning of your ob/gyn residency training, or up to one year after successful completion of Parts I and II of the American Board examinations. Junior Fellows are not allowed to use the initials JFACOG. Only Fellows of the College are recognized as FACOG. Transfer of membership from Junior Fellowship to Fellowship is not an automatic process. A Junior Fellow must re-apply for membership as a Fellow of ACOG.
